| Here is one possible analysis of Isaiah....my thoughts.... Isa 13:1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see. Notice that Isaiah says "Burden". Our war with Iraq certainly IS a burden in every way, just watch the news! Isa 13:2 Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. Could the banner be an American flag? Could the "gates of the nobles" be the U.N. where George W. Bush and Colin Powell "shake the hand"? Isa 13:3 I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness. Could the U.S. be the "mighty ones", and Britian be the sanctified ones? This still is a "Christian" country that "rejoices in his highness". The Christian God is still in our "Pledge" and on our money and given credit by our President when he makes major speeches. Our current President is a born-again Christian! Isa 13:4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle. Could the "kingdoms of nations" be our "coalition" advancing with tumultuous (disorderly) noise? Could the "noise of a multitude in the mountains" be F16s and fighter bombers, tanks, personnel carriers? Could "like as of a great people" be the U.S.? Is America not considered a "Great" nation full of "Great" people? The "greatest" nation and people to ever grace planet earth? Could the "tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together" be our "coalition" storming into Iraq? Could we not certainly be the "Host" of the battle? Could God be "mustering" us in to battle? Isa 13:5 They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. Could the "FAR COUNTRY", from the end of heaven not be the U.S.? Could the weapons of God's "indignation", which the dictionary says means (Anger aroused by something unjust, mean, or unworthy), be Americas weapons which can easily "destroy the whole land"? COULD THIS BE THE CURRENT WAR WE ARE IN? Makes you kind of go hhmmmmm..... Love and Grace through our Lord Jesus!!! Brett |
